We Met in Miami is a nonprofit event series facilitating love and friendship through community service, civic engagement and the arts.
At our events, adults 21+ wear wristbands that show others we are open to making new connections: green for people looking for love, blue for those seeking friendship and rainbow for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. (Yes, you can wear more than one!)
Each event includes curated connection experiences designed to help people break the ice, plus activities that foster meaningful connections through shared interests and values.
We launched on Valentine's Day 2024, and since, we have held or participated in 14 events events drawing anywhere from 40 to 400 people.
We have collaborated with many other community organizations, including Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, the Miami Film Festival, the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, Bakehouse Art Complex, the Women's Fund of Miami-Dade, the League of Women Voters, 10 Days of Connection, Miami Sound Space and Miami Poetry Club.
This nonprofit event series brings people ages 21+ together for curated experiences designed to foster connection.
Think of it like a Miami meet cute: a chance for Miamians to meet their next beau or bestie at a singalong. A film festival. A figure drawing class. A beach cleanup. A historical neighborhood tour.
